The Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) is a nonprofit organization with a vision to establish financial planning as a recognized profession through the promotion of excellence in financial planning for the benefit of all Malaysians and a mission to establish the global CFP Mark as the leading symbol of excellence for personal financial planning in Malaysia.
FPAM is dedicated to promoting a culture of excellence among financial professionals across diverse disciplines, emphasising the continuous enhancement of technical competence and unwavering commitment to ethical obligations. In alignment with this mission, our continuing education courses cater to Associate and Certified Members, aiming to impart comprehensive knowledge and a nuanced understanding of Financial Planning and its associated activities. It is worth noting that our courses enjoy recognition from both the Securities Commission (SC) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) for meeting continuing education requirements, further underscoring our commitment to fostering professional growth within the financial industry.
Certified Financial Planner
The MBA (Finance) programme at PBS is registered with FPAM. As an FPAM Education Provider, our courses satisfy FPAM’s education requirement, allowing an individual to sit for the CFP CERT TM. Certification Examination. Our Programme Coordinator, Dr. Noor Maimum Abdul Wahab, is a CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL PLANNER® practitioner, and our instructors provide you with the most current information in financial planning.
CFP CERT TM, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and are certification marks owned outside the United States by Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. FPAM is the marks licensing authority for the CFP Marks in Malaysia, through an agreement with FPSB.
Individuals can attain CFP CERT TM certification after fulfilling the education requirement, passing the comprehensive CFP CERT TM Certification Examination, demonstrating work experience and completing the ethics requirements. A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional has attained financial planning’s most prominent certification.
PBS does not certify individuals to use the CFP CERT TM, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and marks. CFP certification is granted only by FPSB and FPAM to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this FPAM Education Provider, have met the ethics, experience and examination requirements.
