To qualify for DBA – ODL Mode, applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

> A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
> A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in non-related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate; subject to having relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment; OR
> A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in non-related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate and without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses; OR
> Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) recognised by the Malaysian Government.
> 5 years of working experience in a managerial position which includes involvement in the decision-making process
> This programme also accepts students through APEL T-8 for those who do not have a master’s degree, in accordance with the criteria set by the MQA.
> Applicants must have a business-related field to qualify for the programme. Those without a related field but have working experience must undergo an interview conducted by the Director of Programme together with a Potential Supervisor in the related field while a candidate who does not have the working experience and from a non-related field is required to complete five (5) pre-requisite courses (Managing People, Managing Financial Resources, Understanding Customers, Understanding Environment and Strategic Planning).

Note: In compliance with the latest regulatory requirements (https://bit.ly/MQA2nd – please refer to pages 38 & 39) students are required to complete a Pre-Requisite Course (PRC). It is compulsory for students to attend and pass this course before/while pursuing their studies at PBS. The purpose of this course is to equip the students with basic business knowledge in order to prepare them for the programme and students are required to pay a fee of RM 500.00 before registering for PRC. Applicable to those who do not have a business or management background. (Not applicable to exchange students.)

These requirements are only necessary for international applicants.
An international applicant who obtains a score below the required minimum score may be accepted for admission on a conditional basis for any graduate programme.
An international applicant who has obtained a degree from any public university or established private university in Malaysia shall not be subject to the English language proficiency requirement.
An international applicant for the DBA programme who has undergone his Master’s degree education in the English language medium shall also be exempted from the requirement. Application for exemption must be accompanied by supporting documents.
