So why would you like to do your degree at Putra Business School (PBS)? Isn’t it just like another business school? Don’t all business schools teach the same subjects?

Let’s answer these questions in the reverse order.

AACSB accreditation

AACSB_125x125Yes, PBS does teach more or less the same subjects. However, we are the only postgraduate business school in Malaysia and one of 6 in the region that has been accredited by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Accreditation means having achieved the expectations set by AACSB concerning the business school’s mission, faculty qualifications, and curricula, assessed through their process of evaluations, peer-reviews, committee reviews, and development of in-depth strategic plans. Less than 5% of the world’s business schools have such accreditation. PBS is one of them. That means a lot of work of reviewing the business school is already done for you. Human Governance

Putra Business School (PBS) is not like any business school.  PBS’ fundamental approach to the purpose of business is as enablers to the betterment of society. To do that business leaders need to be the drivers, not merely adhering to rules and regulations impacting the business. It is the human who decides what type of business is set up and for what purpose. After all, business is a human enterprise.

Putra Business School (PBS) is among someinside of the first, if not the first to do so, in recognising that although corporations and businesses may be characterised as entities with legal rights and liabilities, it is nevertheless the human who makes the decisions.

The human, therefore, needs to understand her responsibilities within the realm of her environment, society and immediate vicinity while in the process of being enterprising and entrepreneurial. During lectures at PBS, students are not only encouraged to use all their faculties of eyes, ears and mind in class to give attention, understand and remember, we also encourage the use of the heart to feel what is right and wrong.

We term this approach human governance.

Putra Business School (PBS) is a business school teaching humans about business basics and the business of being humans in business. It is about building character, and perhaps in time, there will ensue a generation of leaders with integrity, who cares not only about profitability but also about society and the environment around them. If that is also your perspective, then PBS is the place for you.

Putra Business School (PBS) aims to be relevant in today’s world which brought forth the recent 2008 financial crisis and numerous other infamous corporation defaults. PBS offers an alternative frame of thinking on leadership and business with our concept of the human based on Eastern tradition.

Besides covering the typical business school subjects, we ask what it means to be human, and how our perspective will change when we no longer treat humans as resources but as trustees of resources.

In addition to our teaching staff, you will meet other like minded people from other parts of the world, and exposed to experienced industry champions who believe in the same perspective.
