Dr Zubaidah Zainal Abidin is a Professor with Putra Business School.
She has a diversified academic background with ICSA as her professional qualification, MSc in Accounting and Management Science from University of Southampton, UK and her PhD from Curtin University of Technology, Australia.
She was formerly a Professor at Universiti Teknologi MARA and had served in various academic management positions, among others, as the Head of Teaching and Learning, Institute of Leadership and Quality Management and Dean of the Institute of Graduate Studies. Upon retirement from UiTM, she was offered to join Kolej Universiti Polytech MARA (KUPTM) as the Dean of Institute of Professional Studies and in 2017 was appointed as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Internationalisation). Prior to joining UiTM in 1986, spanning over a period of 13 years, Dr Zubaidah was employed as a Company Secretary for private limited companies and public listed companies in Malaysia.
Dr Zubaidah had published her 5th edition book on “Company Secretarial Practice – Compliance and Administration”, and she has also authored book chapters and published her research findings in national and international refereed journals. Her research interests include forensic accounting, Islamic accounting, corporate governance, board governance, intellectual capital, corporate social responsibility, gender diversity and accounting education.
Currently Dr Zubaidah is a Fellow with The Malaysian Association of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) and engaged as a trainer for MAICSA’s professional development programmes. She was also appointed as an associate speaker and trainer by Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM), Malaysian Association of Company Secretaries (MACS) and Institute of Approved Company Secretaries (IACS).
