Associate Professor Dr. Lailawati Mohd Salleh obtained her PhD from Ohio University, USA. She was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honour society (for top business students) serving business programs accredited by AACSB in 1996 and received a summa cum laude (highest honour) for her Bachelor of Business Administration. She was the runner-up for the Vice Chancellor Fellowship Award in Teaching and selected as a candidate for the Malaysian National Academic Award.
She has taught several courses such as Human Resource Management, Training and Development, Strategic Management, Public Speaking, Entrepreneurship, and Business Communication. Dr. Lailawati has also trained international participants in Human Resource-specific topics, e.g. Training and Personnel Management and Emotional Intelligence. Her passion is in leadership, for which she has received several research grants. She was awarded “Best Speaker” as a trainer in the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise and Entrepreneurship program by SME@UPM.
She contributes to scholarship through more than 40 journal articles, books, chapters in books, and modules, and serves as a journal article reviewer at the national and international level. Her supervisory and consultation experience focuses on Leadership and Human Resource Management. Her areas of research are leadership, communication, and human resource management.
