Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM)
The Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM) is the only registered institute in the country established for the purpose of serving the marketing fraternity in Malaysia, IMM was founded in 1977 by YBM Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah who also became the Institute’s first Patron. Currently, the Patron of IMM is YB. Datuk Ignatius Darell Leiking, Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia. As the national professional body for sales and marketing practitioners, IMM’s mission is to promote marketing as a philosophy of business, to enhance the professional standards of marketing practices and to be the leading centre for marketing in the region. IMM is responsible for the promotion of efficient and effective marketing management practices in Malaysia, the administration of the Institute’s membership, the safeguard and advancement of its member’s interest, and the enhancement of the professional image of sales and marketing practitioners. IMM is a member of the Asia Marketing Federation (AMF), a recognized body which was set up in 1991 and is now made up of members comprising sixteen (16) national marketing bodies from Asia region. Country members of AMF are Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. The Institute is also a member of the World Marketing Association (WMA).
Malaysian Institute Of Chartered Secretaries And Administrators (MAICSA)
The Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) was founded in 1959 as an affiliated body to Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA). It is now one of the nine Divisions of ICSA worldwide, having achieved a Division status in 2001. Membership of the Institute is limited only to members and students of the Institute residing in Malaysia. At present the Institute has about 4,000 members (comprising Fellows, Associates) and Graduates, 2,100 students and 600 Affiliates. In tandem with its mission of developing good corporate professionals, MAICSA is committed to maintaining the highest standard of integrity and ethical values within the profession. MAICSA also acts as a change catalyst in the corporate arena, participating actively in the enhancement of corporate governance. It has been championing best practices in corporate governance and educating the Malaysian corporate sector on its importance.
Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management (MIHRM)
Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management (MIHRM)was established in 1975 as Malaysia’s first professional body promoting the practice of human resource management. As the leading and independent body in Malaysia, MIHRM has trainedmore than 20,000 competent HR professionals and practitioners in both the private and public sectors. The wide array of professional training courses, public programmes, consultations and support for organisations and individuals has put MIHRM at the forefront of the industry as the sole authority on human resource management in the country. This is consistent with its reputation as the only professional body authorised to certify HR practitioners in Malaysia. MIHRM is also affiliated with the World Federation of People Management Association (USA) and Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management (APFHRM) and other reputable regional Human Resource Management Associations.
