Sustainable Supply Chain Management

Introduction

This course extends the knowledge from operations management to sustainable supply chain management, aiming to develop an understanding on
the complex nature of sustainability while exploring current and future trends within sustainable supply chain management. It introduces various sustainable supply chain management issues and best practices parallel with the technology development which enables managers to design and implement effective sustainable supply chain strategies locally and globally. The course is developed in collaboration with The International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA) to provide students with in-depth real-industry examples of sustainable supply chains in practice. Today, the importance of supply chain management goes beyond profit maximisation and encompasses responsible management, societal obligations, and environmental obligations. The course integrates sustainability into all chapters, namely purchasing, manufacturing, distributing, storing and warehousing.
